Spirit of PEACE

A true passion at Spirit of Peace, we care for creation in many ways.

• We are members of Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light’s first cohort of Resilience Hub faith communities, working to strengthen community relationships and provide material support in times of climate trauma.
• We created Planet Care Road Show, a traveling, intergenerational shadow puppet production that teaches planet stewardship.
• We compost and recycle, and collect plastic bags for recycling.

Spirit of Peace loves hands-on projects! We make sandwiches, deliver food to schools, stock food shelves, and collect school supplies and warm clothes for our neighbors.

We show up to witness to the systemic issues of injustice in our society. We put our bodies in spaces of protest and we participate in grassroots organizing efforts with our ministry partners at Isaiah that seek to build power through relationships, advocating for the dignity and well-being of all.

Through our monthly congregational giving, we support a range of organizations. Our twice-yearly Nominate a Nonprofit gatherings provide ongoing opportunities for our community to lift up the world’s most pressing needs and worthy organizations doing important work.

Our giving recipients cover a broad range, from climate care to the care and uplift of marginalized groups in our community and around the world, to advocating for policies consistent with our faith values.
